Description

Chestnuts are one of the most nutritious food. They can be consumed roasted, boiled or fresh. Peeled chestnuts are used as an ingredient in confectionery.
One hundred gram of chestnuts consist of carbohydrate(34.5g), protein(3.5g), vitamins A,B,C, fat and calcium. Especially abundent in vitamins, chestnuts are good for theskin and in combating fatigue and colds. And it has been proven that vitamin C in the nuts help soxidization of alchol when the nuts are taken fresh as a snak during drinking. The high quality sugar in the nuts has an enzyme that helps the fuction of the stomach; if taken roasted, the nuts help prevent diarrhea and indigestion. Also the nuts are good for preventing geriatric diseases and coughing. Now they are widely used as an ingredient in proccessed food and infant's diet since they are easy to digest.
