Enokitake No. 1 |
Enokitake No. 1 refers to the product selected from the ASI 4021 strain, which has a variety of excellent properties, after the strain was grown nationwide or imported from abroad by the Institute of Agricultural Technology between 1981 and 1982 and the properties and growing method of each strain were identified in 1984. In 1986, in the productivity test, the strain was tested for its excellent production. In 1987, the mushroom spawn committee designated the mushroom as a commercial species. In selecting this species, Kim Han-gyeong, Park Jeong-sik, Cha Dong-yeol, and Jeong Hwan-chae participated. |

- Enokitake No. 1 has the short initial germination period of 10 days and gains relatively many effective stipes. Also, if exposed to light for a long time, it turns brown at the cap or from the bottom of its stem. Therefore, milky white mushrooms can be produced only when cultivated in a pitch-dark environment. - Optimum temperature for cultivation of Enokitake No. 1 is at around 25℃ - To gain higher yields of the fruiting body, the water content of the sawdust medium for Enokitake No. 1 should be 72%. - The optimum amount of medium ranges from 560g to 610g per bottle when filling sawdust medium in a PP (polypropylene) bottle of 850ml for cultivation of Enokitake No. 1, and any amount exceeding it requires longer periods of cultivation while increasing yields of the fruiting body. - The optimum temperature for fruiting body growth is 6℃ and any temperature higher than this reduces yields. |
|
1.Productivity |
The results of the productivity test found that the Enokitake No. 1 strain allows faster completion of spawn cultivation, production of more effective stipes and the largest quantity of fruiting body (104g per bottle), and least browning.
